Embracing the Neoclassical style of the early nineteenth century, the Louis XVI period contemporary Corinthian table base takes us back to a time when furnishing were made to be straightforward while at the same time elegant in their simplicity. During the reign of France’s Louis XVI art and architecture saw a revival of all things Greek and Roman in design. Indeed, Greco-Roman influence is apparent in the fluted design of this table base.
