When a space is designed with purpose, it does more than serve a function. Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Tx had a goal in mind and it was to create a shaded outdoor area that supports daily use while maintaining a clean, open, and highly functional design.
Adventure Playground Systems delivered a full cantilever shade solution engineered for both performance and aesthetics. Built to withstand demanding conditions, the structure is engineered to resist wind loads up to 95 mph, with gusts up to 110 mph, ensuring long-term durability and reliability.
With a cantilever umbrella design, these structures create an open, covered area without the obstruction of a standard centered column. This allows for a cleaner look, better functionality, and more usable space underneath. By eliminating the center columns, the design creates a wide, unobstructed covered space, allowing for flexible use across seating areas, walkways, and gathering zones without interruption. Beyond performance, comfort was a key priority. The shade system provides consistent coverage from the Texas sun, making outdoor areas more usable throughout the day whether for students, staff, or visitors.
For schools and institutions, creating spaces that are both functional and visually refined is essential. These structures not only elevate the overall look, but also enhance usability across seating areas, pools, driveways, car washes, and more delivering comfort, durability, and long-term performance.
